Cutting Dairy out of my life left me with a long term craving for Hot Chocolate, or as my Journeys in South America introduced me to El Submarino - a breakfast time drink of Hot milk with a large chunk of dark chocolate which you stir in to make fresh yummy Hot Chocolate .... FOR BREAKFAST!!!
So with the easy accessabillity of various Plant milks I can now return to Chocolate city..
I recommend 4 squares of Dark Dairy free Chocolate with spelt and almond milk.. i heat the milk in a pan (not Microwave) sprinkle in some Cinnamon and Cardamom and maybe a little left over vanilla seed or pod (extra yum) and pour into your mug over the chocolate and stir rapidly, enjoying the sight as the milk turns increasingly darker as the smell rises up. If you are using a good high % chocolate it may be sometimes that this doesnt dissolve as well.. never fear coconut oil is the rescue remedy. Approximately 1/2 a teaspoon stirred in with the chocolate will make a smooth creamy emulsion. if you can access Raw Cacao this of course is the ultimate treat, instead of (or as well as) the Chocolate squares..
Enjoy xx
